Keeping up with DCM/LCM as a student

Hey everyone.

I'm applying for summer analyst roles in Debt Capital Markets and Loan Capital Markets, where I gained some experience during my soph yr internship. I was wondering if there are any newsletters, forums, sites, etc.. where I could keep up with specific debt transactions so I'm up to date and able to speak to a bank's recent syndications if it were to come up in an interview, as well as just for my own personal interest.

Thanks!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some recommendations to keep up with Debt Capital Markets (DCM) and Loan Capital Markets (LCM):

  1. Newsletters and Websites:

    • Reuters and Forbes: While these are often seen as mouthpieces for the industry, they still provide valuable updates on market trends and major transactions.
    • Market Reports from Brokerage Firms: These can offer detailed insights into recent debt transactions and market conditions.
  2. Forums and Discussion Boards:

    • Wall Street Oasis (WSO): Engaging in forums like WSO can provide you with real-time discussions and insights from professionals in the field. You can find threads specifically discussing DCM and LCM, which can be very informative.
  3. Technical Newsletters:

    • Look for unbiased, technical newsletters that focus on debt markets. These might be harder to find, but they can provide in-depth analysis and data on recent transactions.
  4. Networking:

    • LinkedIn: Follow industry leaders and join groups related to DCM and LCM. This can help you stay updated on recent deals and market movements.

By leveraging these resources, you can stay informed about recent debt transactions and be well-prepared for your interviews. Good luck with your summer analyst applications!
