Know several that work there in a sales function. They have done quite well, enjoy the vibe, etc. Don't know actual investors. What I do know is PIMCO is not just A but THE top firm in active fixed income. Their size, scale, research capabilities, ability to create unique deals, etc put them at a different level. 

They would be a very good resume boost for a few yrs. However, the market hours from Newport would be a challenge. Only you can say if it's worth the grind. 

Pay at VP+ levels is awesome. Many stay for a long time. Once you get there, hard to justify leaving. Have seen a few leave to take top jobs (Head of X) at other shops. Otherwise they stick around.
