Preparing for an interview with CPPIB's credit investment team - any tips? Anything on LP credit teams or GP PC teams would also help

Hi, I come from an equity background (4 years in an IBD sector team and 1 year in private equity), but recently had to leave my firm due to personal reasons.

I'm looking to get back into the industry and am very keen to join the CPPIB credit investment team. I know this may sound stupid, but I'm honestly more keen on the firm (have several friends who work at CPPIB, including the credit team, in the region of hire and they all say it's great and most importantly, very sustainable). Since my days at PE, I have been highly interested in the PC space (albeit, on a higher level) and am very eager to switch industries from equity to credit.

I have a rather limited understanding of what a credit investment team does on a day-to-day basis, though I had worked on a PE acqusition financing deal together with the LevFin desk when I was at IBD and a portfolio refinancing deal at PE. I'm behind on the technicals and really have to know what questions I have to prepare for. Though it's easier said than done, a couple of my friends who transitioned from PE to PC told me it's manageable to learn on the job, but it's the interviews that I have to pass.

I'm very comfortable with LBOs and modeling in general, but have to prepare on the below:

  1. Frequently asked interview questions in the buyside credit space (any files I can refer to). Ideally, something like the "Breaking into Wallstreet" guide that has the 101s
  2. LBO / modeling from a debt perspective - think a look at a private credit case study will do (if anyone can share)
  3. Anything else?

Thank you so much in advance - I'd be willing to pay if needed.
