Speaking with journalists - need advice
Hi - a journalist at a major newspaper reached out to me as a person “to get to know”. Is this just fishing on their part / spam and if not, should I respond or is it risky to my career?

Maybe I misunderstood but I suspect it could be relating to the HPS/BLK deal since I used to work at one of these firms. I assumed they are reaching out to ask questions regarding culture or something - I was planning to remain anon if I was going to comment but I thought it could be good for my personal visibility if I am mentioned in a publication?
Should I be requesting intel as well if I engage?
