What does the Credit group at TD do?

Here is the description,

"Credit: Our Credit groups are responsible for the structuring, underwriting, and execution of M&A, project finance, and corporate debt transactions from inception through maturity. Working with clients in a variety of industries, you will gain exposure to a wide range of business models, acquisition structures, and industry dynamics."

It sounds like a DCM group? Any insights would be appreciated.

My assumption with that description is that anytime capital markets, corporate/commercial banking, M&A, etc. groups need some sort of credit facility to underwrite, this team takes care of sitting in between the origination and risk. Probably drafting credit memo's, monitoring existing facilities (updating internal risk ratings), presenting proposals to committees and risk teams, etc. I doubt it is "front-office" so to speak, but it is most likely a great stepping stone into a DCM/LevFin/Credit Research role. If you're underwriting across industries, I can't see a reason why you can't get a great experience. I've interviewed for an almost identical position at other banks, if I'm understanding the description correctly.
