Advice on creating sample model/report

Hi All,

Been lurking on this site for a while now, excellent resource.

I have some free time between my studies now to start creating a financial model and sample equity research report that I would like to have in my quest for a job within ER.

Two things, what kinds of companies should I be looking into? Ideally, I'd like a company that isn't overly difficult (i've only done this once), but something that can also show case my abilities. Also, does anyone have a financial model template that I can take a look at and compare to what I used during my studies.

Thanks a lot ladies and gentlemen!
