AI for ER

Have a case study coming up for an ER job. The ticker they've given me has some hair on it, but they just want model and recommendation. As someone not in the industry, was wondering if there are any standard AI tools I should be cross referencing as I go? Planning to run it through Grok, but any other advice would be greatly appreciated!

For your ER case study, leveraging AI tools can definitely give you an edge, especially for tasks like data collection, analysis, and presentation. Based on the most helpful WSO content, here are some recommendations:

  1. Grok: As you mentioned, Grok is a solid choice. It can help you analyze financial data, spot trends, and even assist in building out your model. Make sure to use it for sanity checks and to identify any anomalies in your data.

  2. Excel Macros and Automation: If you're working with repetitive tasks like data entry or formatting, consider using pre-built macros or learning to create your own. This can save time and reduce errors.

  3. AI-Powered Research Tools: Tools like ChatGPT or GPT-4 can assist in summarizing reports, generating insights, or even drafting parts of your recommendation. However, always cross-check the outputs for accuracy and relevance.

  4. Data Aggregation Tools: If you're pulling data from multiple sources, consider using tools that aggregate and organize data efficiently. For example, platforms like Bloomberg Terminal or FactSet (if you have access) are industry standards, but even free tools like Yahoo Finance can be helpful.

  5. Visualization Tools: For presenting your recommendation, tools like Tableau or Power BI can help create compelling visuals. If you're sticking to Excel, ensure your charts and graphs are clean and professional.

  6. Knowledge Management: Organize your findings systematically. Tools like OneNote or Notion can help you keep track of your research, insights, and notes as you work through the case study.

  7. Human Element: Remember, while AI tools are great for efficiency, the human element is critical in ER. Use your judgment to interpret the data, assess the "hair" on the ticker, and craft a thoughtful recommendation.

Lastly, focus on the fundamentals of the case study: a well-structured model, clear assumptions, and a concise, actionable recommendation. Good luck!
