Someone pls explain AB to me. Is it SS or Buyside? Is it a mutual fund? Stand alone SS shop?

Sanford Bernstein is their sell-side research business.
If the job description says something about supporting certain investment strategy, it's a buy-side role. If it says "support analyst in generating investment ideas and serve institutional investors", it's sell-side.

Any ideas on exit ops? I know they primarily focus on large cap names which is fine, but would like to do SMID names LT. Can you exit to BB ER as well as MMHFs/SMHFs?

Bernstein p respected in the HF space, least in LDN. Afaik pod shops are pretty liberal with where they recruit from anyway

It means "as far as I know". If you are trying to figure out the difference between AB and SB for recruiting purposes, yet can't double click on a word to look up its definition, then you are far away at getting hired from either shop.
