Analyzing Financial Statements using Excel - converting Thousands to Millions
Hello,
Sometimes, for ease of understanding, it's required to convert reporting in 000's to 000,000's.
For example, after getting the income statement to Excel, want to report
Revenues 1,778,655
as
Revenues 1,779
Is there an elegant way to do it in Excel?
Of course, I can manually create a similar Sheet where I add "=B2/1000" But it's a lot of work.
Many thanks!
Mark
Well you can always use VBA to define a fucntion that divides everything bby 1000, or a specific range. You can do it either automatic or manual with a shortcut.
You could use alt + esm (paste special) and multiply a certain range or the entire sheet by 1000.
type 1000 into a cell, copy it, then select the values you want changed to millions/thousands and alt e s and either I for divide by 1000 or m for multiply
Thank you, that did the trick.
