Best ER Adjacent Careers
Hi guys. I’m in my senior year of college and this last summer I just completed a research internship at a boutique firm. Unfortunately, there were no return offers, so now I’m rerecruiting for FT. I want to give myself a margin of safety if I’m unable to break into research before I graduate. What are some other research adjacent careers? Research is my long-term goal, so I’m looking for careers that help develop the skills needed to break into research if I cannot before I graduate. Additionally, what does the recruiting look like for these careers? Thank you.
Accounting, IR, credit risk at a ratings agency, working for a central bank. Commercial/corporate banking. Research at a wealth manager.

Big banks hire ex MBB people quite often into ER. Especially when you've had a sector focus and you're hired to cover that sector.
