Buy side ER

I'm currently a banker at CS/UBS (just finished 1st year) and have an offer for RW Baird sell side ER. I'm considering taking the offer so I could move to a prominent buy side ER position within 1-2 years.

How hard would this transition be from a place like RW Baird?

Also, I don't know how much credit they are giving me for my 1 year of experience, so does anybody know how much does a first or second year analyst/associate out of undergrad makes at a place like RW Baird?

Thanks for your help.

I would expect $80k with 30% - 70% bonus, and you will be an associate. I would imagine better hours than banking though, prob 60 - 70 avg with the pretty rare 80.

I would say it would be roughly as easy to jump to the buyside then as it is now. You have good experience, and some get in with your credentials. Any reason you are not pursuing it now?

Also, I would have to say you are probably taking a step down as far as exit ops if you go from BB to MM.
