Career in ER - still worth it?

I am wondering if a career in ER (sell-side) is still worth it? Especially in London/Europe. As far as I know it's becoming less important (less budget) and MiFID II is hitting it pretty hard. What's your suggestion for a prospective graduate? Move my focus to IBD (or S&T) instead? Long term goal is L/S HF or AM.

Thanks.

Talk to alumni from your school. Look at LinkedIn and your schools alumni website. There must be someone working in ER or related fields.
