Hey Associate 1 in ER, what a lonely thread. I'm here since nobody responded ...so maybe one of these discussions will help:
More suggestions...
Fingers crossed that one of those helps you.
(1) Focus on getting an offer...
(2) if you have multiple offers, choose the sector that you are more interested in. Worst case you can lateral to another firm within that sector.
(3) blindly ranking these with no context would be idiotic.
Agree. It’s asinine to pick some sectors and random analysts and say rank these. If you’re looking for thoughts on a particular sector or bank, maybe you’ll get some bites but otherwise, get an offer first.
This is my ranking of criteria for evaluation:
1. Is analyst a nice person? Nothing matters as much in this profession cuz you will spend more time than you want with that clown
2. Is the sector interesting (not too specialized)? At least hard for me to get excited about some of the sectors you said
3. Is the platform stable? In a declining industry with low level of differentiation, scale / cost leadership is paramount for survival (so BMO, Oppenheimer and SIG are shakier than the other ones here)
But yeah, get some damn offers first.
Facts.
Anecdotal, but I covered gaming for a while and I think this is a sector that will explode in the coming years. Post-COVID, there is a massive coil of demand that is going to ripple through US, EMEA and LATAM
