Disclose Misdemeanor DUI Charge prior to Background Check without Prompting?

Caught a misdemeanor DUI charge about a year ago, against which I am still fighting in court with expectations for resolution, one way or the other, by July. I am currently employed and licensed with FINRA. Both organizations, i.e. my current employer and FINRA, are aware of the charges. However, I was recently offered another job. I have not been asked any questions about my criminal background, whether on the initial application, as apart of the background check consent form, or post-offer application. How should I proceed with addressing the charge with this prospective employer? Should I be forthcoming prior to the background check or allow them to possibly discover the charges and address the issue if/when they ask? I have read considerably from all manner of forums, none of which offer concise, direct advice. Any factual anecdotes or support would be much appreciated.
