Energy Equity Research
I am currently in a energy research analyst role at a physcial commodity trading shop(think LD Energy, Trafi..). I am also sitting for the CFA exams. I was wondering after having a few years of research exp. with a CFA can that easily translate to equity research in semiconductors or E&P? For those of you in that area does leveraging a background in physcial trading have its benefits in this area?
trading wont help... you can make the move and CFA will help
are you doing Equity Research currently or not? Like building financial models or earnings notes etc...
Or you doing fundumental supply/demand like a Wood Mac/CERA/PIRA/etc..//
"equity research in semiconductors or E&P"
Thats quite the range of interest....
Having a knowledge of commodities will be beneficial in energy research.
marcellus we do fundamental S&D stuff like PIRA and CERA.
