Energy to Macro strategy

Hi everyone, I am a 2nd year ER analyst, just finished my 1st year at a MM ER out of undergrad and was looking for some advice. I am currently in the energy team at my firm covering around 15-20 stocks.

After my 1st year, I am getting some real bad vibes about my career. I have realized that I am not at all a good stock picker ( plus I am getting really skeptical about my ability to continue in the energy field). I have realized on the other hand that I my personality and interest really suits global macro strategy and I seem to have a better grasp/intuition about macro events.

I was interested in knowing if it is a viable plan to move to macro strategy team or HF, after 1-2 years in Energy ER. Also, if anyone has some insights or some tips they want to give me-I am listening.
