Equities research basics
Hey guys,
For those of you that have been doing this for a while, what are some good sources (websites etc) for basic equities research? Basically the story is that my pwm boss is letting me write up some reports on equities so that I have some talking points during job interviews. I want to be able to do at least 2 detailed reports which will allow me to leverage my pwm internship. I'd really appreciate some sources and starting points, and sample reports if there are any.
Thanks, moneymonger
What sector?
Do a search on this site. Myself and a few other people laid out how a sell side report should look.
If you don't have access to factset, thomson one or bloomberg, you'll need to rely on google finance and yahoo finance.
basics include: financial forecast, catalysts (what will make the stock pop), risks to thesis, the thesis itself, background info on the firm, and anything specific that you think makes the stock standout.
