How did you make the transition from accounting to equity research?
Also, I am surprised that ER pays that well, those numbers seem to be at the same level as an IBanker.
It's because its oil and gas, associates in most other sectors are making significantly less
note that entry level I-bankers (ie. 1st yr. associate) in Calgary are making substantially more, $250k+ all in;
but personally, i'd rather just forgo the $70k diff and have a life, but that's just me
i spent 3 years in the corporate audit and assurance group at a big 4 accounting firm and made the switch
accounting skills are highly valued in equity research
