More of an entry level role, not a managing editor. Would be working under Series 16 licensed Supervisory Analysts. Obviously won't really lead to front office roles but was wondering what the job would be like.
Most of my exposure with publishing was when we put out a meaty piece or a ratings change and we had it edited. I know they work a lot with the South American and EMEA teams.
I am in equity research and I work with Supervisory analysts every day.
Basically you are there to approve the research that comes out from the equity researchers - this includes making sure things are sourced probably, non-public information is not disclosed, data matches, consensus numbers are right, etc.,etc. A good entry level position perhaps, but I would never consider doing it long-term - you may be able to break into an equity research position later on. - but if it's what you want to do, then do it.
