ER Self requesting a model submission

I've been on this forum quite a loooong time. I just never post anything. I'm mostly on CFA forums.

However, I recently got a call from a MD for a ER position. He said he will be away the coming weeks and will reconnect in January. But Im afraid he will forget me by then. I have been on some interviews where they ask for models and write ups. I am thinking of initiating that and do a model and write up for him while he's away. Or would I be kicking myself here? What if he didn't even want one and I screw up the model? Any thoughts? I've never been on a ER interview.

If you are knowledgeable in writing reports, or have one you wrote with an analyst, etc. Then I would definitely. I have a couple in my portfolio. If not, I would definitely research the crap out of others reports before creating your own and showing it to people who will critique the heck out of it. It's a good idea though
