Looking for opinions on the exit opportunities available to associates at both these shops. My thinking is that Bernstein has better exits to AM/HFs. Would Morgan Stanley give you a better shot at a PE exit? (I understand a ER -> PE move is rare in general)

All else equal I'd pick MS. Not that Bernstein is a bad shop, I just find MS to be more reliable on average and you would probably get more client interaction there.
