Fidelity Equity Research freshman summer?

Hey guys, so I am well aware of the difficulty of getting any relevant internships as a freshman. But a close family relation is a director at Fidelity Investments, and I was wondering how good would a potential internship this summer set me up for the future?

I am not sure if I can intern specifically for equity research, but assuming I am able to get some sort of internship relevant to ER, how can I make this apart of my story and leverage this experience.

Any thoughts?

Thats very interesting. I am wondering how it would be viewed if I can prove I actually did something meaningful, like assist analysts who are writing research reports and performing actual sector coverage on stocks. Maybe if I can have that exposure and show it well, they may be impressed.

If you're actually doing meaningful work they won't care if it was through connections or not. I know plenty of people who got stuff through family, far preferable to do nothing.
