Finance or Corporate Finance
To work in equity research, which master would be more useful, MSc Finance or MSc corporate finance? (assuming the Universities were exactly the same).

These are the core modules: a) MSc Corporate Finance: Financial Analysis, Financial Management, Corporate Valuation, Mergers & Acquisitions and Quantitative Methods.
b) MSc Finance: Corporate Finance, Investments, Risk Management, Financial Analysis and Financial Research Methods.
I won't damp all the module information here, but I don't think the programmes are dramatically different. Obviously, corporate finance has a less of a market focus, paying more attention to the company itself. So I could reframe the question as whether Equity Research would value more a broader knowledge of market finance or a more detailed knowledge of corporate finance.
From the course selection it seems like MSc Corp Fin is more geared towards IBD and Corp Fin (obvs). The courses in the MSc Finance curriculum would appear more applicable to equity research.
