Fixed Income Research (CLOs and ABS) Analyst

Hi Gang,

I'm coming from a top investment management firm (think PIMCO, T.Rowe, BlackRock, Fidelity, etc...), in a client-facing position and am interviewing for a fixed income research role at the junior level at another top asset management firm (think GSAM, Nuveen, Wellington, etc...) that's focused on securitized products (i.e. ABSs, CLOs). I'm interested in going into PM within the securitized products down the line and feel this will give me exactly what I need to get there. I've also done equity research for a little less than a year.

I'm curious to know what kind of comp (salary/bonus) I should expect at the junior level. Please break down by year as much as you can.

I'm also interested in knowing what kind of exit opps I can look at after 3 years or so should an opportunity not arise internally?

Thanks, Waff
