Goodwill Reporting on 10-K
I'm looking through Lowe's 2016 10-K and it acquired a Canadian company named RONA which was the only acquisition. An exhibit outlining what Lowe's paid for RONA states that goodwill is indeed 976 but the actual goodwill exhibit under acquisitions it has the figure 1015 instead of 976. Is this due to the tax effect of the 107 being tax deductible?

Where are you getting 107?
My best guess is the difference comes from the FX translation, though I can't say for sure because I don't know the precise GAAP rules for goodwill purchased with a foreign currency.
Sorry I didn't post it in the screenshot but it says it in the 10-K.
