The person in charge of the junior class (DoR/assistant DoR/HR) may technically determine the number but they base it 90% off what your lead analyst says. Whatever sales/other teams/interactions with clients say about you is probably only the last 10%. So bottom line try to get on your lead analyst's good side, your client interaction numbers and the amount of revenue you generate don't really start to matter until you hit VP and above.

Better Analyst at a “less reputation bank” 100% for bad team at a good bank. You want to be in a team that buyside folks want to talk to - will give you the best exit ops/connections. Been on both sellside and buyside so have seen both sides as a jr.
