How to Pick a Stock to Cover

I work at a unique ER group covering smid biotech companies, and get to pitch possible companies to cover to the heads of the group. Do you have any advice on the best way of sorting through to find ones with high potential?

I have been sorting companies with an important catalyst in the next year but theres just too many to analyze in addition to the day to day work.
