Hypothetical Situation with Customs and Border searching your work email at the border

I've read that Customs and Border control can search your phone so I was wondering if you work in equity research and have non public material information in your emails, are they still allowed to read it? What if the border guards decide to trade on the information? Am I an accessory to insider trading? How does the SEC think about this? I guess if you refused, the CBP could keep you locked up. Probably a rare case but just thought about it when I couldn't go bed last night.
