Is it a bad idea to pitch a short to equity research analysts?
I've been working on a stock pitch for a shorts-only competition, and just wondering if it's appropriate to send to ER analysts, since they don't really give Sell ratings. Or is it awkward/looks bad. I'm looking to get a referral for associate positions I applied to.
This has to be up there in the most overthought questions of all time
yes, send it.
No that's probably fine, even though for business / optics reasons they're only rarely issuing "sell" ratings, they obviously have a view on what names are likely declining v. on the upswing so they'll still appreciate the work
