Is this a right time to ask Bankers for coffee

I met few bankers last month at Financial review of some company :

Abt me : Work as a Geophysicist

Working on : CFA Level 1 Dec2012 and Premium modeling course Wall Street Prep

Question : Do you think its a right time for me to start meeting the analyst and directors of banks and show them my interest in Finance ? or I should wait till my CFA results ?

Reason : I am working on the Skills ( Doing wall street prep course ) need for ER jobs. So, I guess its better to approach these guys after few months of reading.. Will appreciate your views. Another thing, I just started with new company ( 4 months). I worked 8 months for my last employer.

Reason for shift : Package increment of 20%, Global company..

gstackle32It's never to early to network imo...that being said there is a significant difference between having coffee with an analyst and having coffee with a director (more preparation for the highers ups). Make sure to do your due diligence on both before meeting and try to avoid being socially inept.
Thanks for advice appreciate it

If you were interested in ER, I would highly recommend picking a sector and target analysts who cover that sector.
