I will be applying for summer 2012 internships for equity researchcovering the aerospace and defense sector.
My gameplan is to mail out a copy of my resume, cover letter, transcript, and a few projects in my portfolio (on a CD) to the head analyst of that particular group.
I'll follow up with them after they've received my package, and then go from there. There are 3 companies in the DC area which have research groups covering A&D.
Feedback is welcome.
Personally, would not open a CD from a random person.

While you're at it, throw in your favorite episode of Family Guy and a few high-res nudes of your gf on there. If she's not a grenade, you are guaranteed a first round interview.

On a CD?!! Might as well put it on a floppy disk, or a laser disk maybe?
Why not just attach them to an email? If you zip it, it shouldn't be too large.
