Other Equity Research Internship Experiences

Currently an intern at a MM IB in equity research. I’ve been wondering what other firms’ intern programs are like. At my firm, I’m assisting with ramping coverage for two new Senior Research Analysts, which means I spend most of my time working on initiation reports and management calls. I do some, but not all, of the modeling and handle most of the non-front page writing in the reports.

Since I joined (4 months ago), we’ve launched coverage on two new companies and have completed two more that are waiting to launch in 1Q. We’re also currently launching an IPO initiation.

I’m just curious what other sell-side ER intern experiences are like. Is this unique, or is it fairly standard? I never formally recruited for ER, so I didn’t really know what to expect.
