Phone conversation with PMs

After some aggressive networking, I was able to secure phone calls with 2 PMs. I have a rough idea of what I want to ask them, but I just wanted to know if WSO could help? Are there any questions I could ask, or characteristics of myself that I could demonstrate, which would help me stand out? What types of things would you want to hear from an aspiring researcher?
