Recommendation for non-native English speaker (writing)
Can anyone recommend books, or other resources, on how to improve your writing, especially business writing?
I am interested in being able to write very concise and succinct and at the same time build my business vocabulary.
I write a lot at work which makes it easy to practice but I need some ideas on how to express certain things in different ways etc.
Shoot - I've checked back ten times hoping someone would reccomened sometihng as even I, a native English speaker, wish to get better at written communication.
Some english literature like reading Hemmingway has helped me be a better writer

Any advice about report writing for grad int.student who is seeking an ER career?I will take self prep courses for modeling but couldn't find out recommendations for writing skills.I want to impress the recruiters on fall to get a summer intern offer,so i just have around 3 months:(
Thank you for your interest...
Read good writers, practice writing and get feedback on it.
It might not be applicable or transferable for writing ER reports in general, but John Cochrane (an econ professor from Booth) has some good general tips in here that helped me in writing some academic stuff: http://faculty.chicagobooth.edu/john.cochrane/research/Papers/phd_paper…
Thank you for your responses guys, further do you know any online courses?Btw,can i compete with natives in the job application process?
I would guess technically yes, of course, but there's a bunch of "if's". From my understanding, recruiting in the US is freakin' inflexible, with start dates only once, twice or so per year. And even if you're from a solid university abroad, people might not know or might not bother to care. Also, not knowing your particular situation, immigration issues might further complicate even any considerations about bringing you in (i.e., can you initially get by with an J-1 visa or the likes for internships/traineeships of up to 12/18 months if you're still enrolled or graduated within the last 12 months; or do you need a full-blown H-1B visa, which are more expensive, capped in number, and not to be obtained year-round).
