Sell Side ER Contact Etiquette
I work for a small buy side shop that has zero sellside subscriptions and does not have any trading relationships with the large banks that have research arms.
What is the etiquette for me reaching out and talking to coverage analysts for some of our holdings? Is it normal for analysts to talk to buysiders that don't have a relationship with their bank?
Seems like a dumb question but I am getting no guidance from my CIO on this as he doesn't use sell side research. I mostly just have some get up to speed questions around some industry trends and a couple of model questions for a few companies.
