Senior ER Comp? Director/MD?
As I continue to evaluate my time here in ER, I was wondering if anyone could share data points for compensation for those covering analysts that make it to the Director (or equivalent) and Managing Director levels?

Career Resources
Have a very few data points from my surveys (all 2021 figures): Director base of ~$250k, and then bonus (not the same people who have $250k base) of around $350k. All the data points are consumer and TMT. I should do salary / bonus survey in the same questionnaire next year.

My current MD was making 650k as an SVP/director in 08( fully confirmed) we cover an industrial sector. Got to think he's making 7 figures easily now as tenured MD
Wait do you mean tenured in the same way an academic tenureship works? How do you get tenured in ER lol.
I would think most analysts who were well established 15-20 years ago (maybe even 5-10) are making less now than they once did because of ER industry revenue trends.
Covering analyst here. Have been covering stocks for less than 3 yrs. ~500k all in.
Can you comment on ~roughly~ how many companies under coverage, potentially the sector, and if your names are generally larger or smaller cap/trade decent or low volume?
What did you do before ER? 3 years of total work xp covering analyst clearing 500k would imply you started covering names 2 years post college. Only really think this is possible for a much older biotech analyst (post doctorate) and still a stretch. If true, congrats.
Bump
Bump. Heard MD range is $600k - $1 mil fwiw
I would guess the all-in range for ER MD is probably $500 to >$1m depending on firm and sector. I know there are still some legends out there pulling $2m+, many of whom carry their weight mainly on corporate relationships, but I assume that's quite rare.
Comp survey
What constitutes a BB in your list could rightfully draw a lot of heat lol
Hahahah, I ain't gonna go there. Throw MS at me.
I know a few VP and MDs in ER that left to banking as associates and VPs (respectively) in the IB title system.
this forum greatly overestimates how many $1mm analysts are out there. Most are probably in tech or pharma/biotech.
Going to kindly suggest there are very few ER MDs moving to IB as VPs. VPs start at what.. 5-6 years of work experience? To work significantly worse hours under another MD and make comparable pay?
