I don't know Sidoti, but can add some perspective.

Most people are generally only familiar with Bulge Brackets firms, however especially in research when it comes to niche products (i would consider small cap a niche product) some of the lessor known firms put out a much better product than the bulge brackets. The reason is that large banks make the majority of their fee and trading income from dealing with the largest companies out there. Dealing with smaller firms is not lucrative enough for them, but it can be for a smaller provider.

I have not dealt with Sidoti, however i've seen some decent reports from KeyBanc. I am not sure whether there are any products for which they are well know. I would try to get your hands on some reports from both banks and figure it out yourself.

I find the reports from Sidotti to be poor.

I'm on the pursuit of happiness and I know everything that shine ain't always gonna be gold. I'll be fine once I get it

From a peer who works at Sidoti: Great exposure to management teams and big name institutional clients. There are no associates working under you, leaving you to do all the grunt work.
