Societe Generale Summer Internship?

I have recently landed an internship for the summer analyst program at Societe Generale CIB in the accounting and finance department. I understand that this is not front office, but its the best thing I could get this summer and I'm pretty happy with it. I was told that the intern they had last year in that department transitioned into front office which is eventually my goal as well. I am going into my senior year and I'm really interested in equity research/S&T. Would this internship help me land an ER/S&T full time when I graduate? and what is the nature of work in the finance/accounting department? Is there anything you would recommend to look over before starting the internship? What should I be expecting? Any advice would be appreciated.

off topic question for everyone, what are typical BB mop up recruiting procedures? what stage is a phone interview with HR campus recruiter considered? Thanks
