Thoughts on Wolfe Research?

Hi guys,

I am interested in Wolfe Research as I have heard they are taking many good analysts from the top banks. Does anyone have experience with them? The culture and exit ops specifically.

Sweatshop culture for juniors. But those who lateral to wolfe at around the VP/senior associate level get a fat payday, as do Analysts. Many well respected and/or ranked analysts and buyside seems to respect wolfe research more than avg.

Know two former coworkers at Wolfe, they love it. The research itself is better. Less structural bullshit that you have with large banks in the research process. Can upgrade a company with one page if you want. A lot more flexibility to do what you want with less required maintenance or platform requirements. There was just so much stupid timesucking shit you had to do at the place I was at just to change PTs, estimates, upgrade/downgrade etc. He called his analyst "a gunslinger" just writes whatever the hell he wants. Less conflicts of interest too because you don't have banking. They pay well too.

They don’t have a 401k, really bad Human Resources.
All assistants should get a pay bump as they do an incredible job.
excellent research job regardless of the above issues as they are competing with the top big banks.
