What can I do?
Hello,
I have recently finished my bachelor's degree in Data Science and Economics from a semi-target in Europe. I am now taking a gap year and will be working for a Big 4 in a semi finance position before I will further pursue a masters in finance from a top target school in Europe. I graduated with a GPA equal to 3.4/4.0.
I want to pursue a career in equity research after i graduate from my masters degree. I have applied to every internship opportunity available for positions in equity research or similar fields, but with no response.
What can I do to better my chances at landing a position in this field? Would it help to make any projects of any kind by myself?
Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you.
To boost your chances of landing a position in equity research, here’s a targeted plan based on the most helpful WSO content:
1. Leverage Your Gap Year at the Big 4
2. Build a Strong Technical Foundation
3. Create Independent Projects
4. Network Strategically
5. Tailor Your Applications
6. Target Smaller Firms
7. Prepare for Interviews
By combining these steps, you’ll not only strengthen your profile but also demonstrate your passion and commitment to equity research. Keep pushing forward—your gap year and master’s program are excellent opportunities to refine your skills and build connections.
