Who makes more Equity Sales/Trading/Research
Anyone working in the cash equities business want to chime in on who (on average) pulls in more in the cash equities business? Have a feeling it is sales.

Career Resources
it really depends a top sales person will pull in more than a pretty good trader. But in general I'd day trading (they have directly attributable PnL, take risk on their book etc.) , then sales then research.
Research is seen a cost centre with no directly attributable PnL so that is why they come in last. This is especially the case in first 10 years of a research analyst's careers. BUT again it depends on your level within research. If you are a lead analyst of the sector you cover then you will be making a a comparable amount , possibly more than the top traders and sales.
