Black Stripe Suit OK at Dinner before Superday?

I realize there has been some discussion on this before but I did not find a whole lot. Is it OK to wear a black suit with subtle stripes at the dinner before the superday? Or should I just stay away from black altogether? I have two suits; the other one is nicer/tailored and is your standard solid charcoal color. Will it be better to wear that both during the dinner and the interviews and just switch up the shirt & tie?

Also do people mostly dress business formal for these dinners?

Thanks!

Dress the way that makes you feel "sharpest" and most confident in my opinion... If I want to make an impression and feel comfortable in a business environment, I cant do it without a tie, otherwise it's to casual and unfortunately, I start to act that way...

and if you go with no tie, dont do that idiotic white tee underneath so everyone can see a stupid white collar on your neck with your button-down open... most retarded thing americans ever did when dressing up...

Who cares. Just wear what you think looks good on you. People care more about what you say then what you look like (providing you don't come dressed like a hobo)
