Don't buy slim fit unless you are British, Italian, or...gay? Just kidding.

I would say designer outlet malls at that price or Syms at 400 Park Ave. or financial district. BB outlet seems like a good bet to get ready for the big leagues...then you can move into MTM from OTR.

Thanks for the advice guys. Lunchis4wimps...I disagree with that - slim-fitting is 10x better than wearing a baggy suit. Form-fitting is the way to go and you don't have to be gay, british, italian, or skinny-as-fuck lol.

Also, I don't have to wear a suit to work - this is just to add to my wardrobe for social events / weddings, etc.

Agree to disagree. I just like eating steak and porking women with bums the size of Queen Latifah's. I'm a man, not a boy.

Baggy is a no go, but a well-tailored suit that fits your shape is a must.

BTW, if it is for social/evening functions, go with a more designer, less business-slanted brand and try black or dark charcoal.

You're being contradictory. A slim-fitting suit is for that exact purpose ("fitting your shape").

On another note, you're not a man b/c you like steak and big butts. We all like that. If you stop eating steaks, and starting wearing slim-fit suits, I would think your level of manliness remains. Would for me. If for some reason you think it would change for you, I would seek deep, personal reflection.

I am not being contradictory. While I realize that someone considering a slim-fit suit might do so to fit his shape, a well-tailored suit does not have to be a slim-fit suit. I believe a well-tailored more traditionally cut suit is better than a slim-fit suit, especially a poor-tailored or non-tailored slim-fit suit.

www.indochino.com

Measure yourself 10 times and add a few inches where you think you might grow

Great fitting suits, decent material, made and shipped in less than 2 weeks , and they'll pay for any further alterations at your local tailor with proof of receipt.

Damn. This seems like a pretty sweet deal. I like the look of that "Utility Suit".

Lol, you know I had to post on this one.

In general, younger folk seem to like slim-fitted and/or 3 button whereas older guys like more traditional box-cut and/or 2 button styles.

It is true, however, that slim is thought of as a Euro style and boxy more of the American style. Notice that with BB's new-ish Italian CEO, Claudio Del Vecchio, has ushered in a more modern take on BB's classicism with slim fit shirts and suits (the Fitzgerald).

As far as perception goes, I believe it depends on your firm/group/colleagues etc. People also understand younger guys will wear newer styles. Wear what you want, put some individualism into it.

How slim is slim? There are European cut suits and then there are skinny suits. Would you trust this guy with your company's M&A strategy or pension fund?

How about this guy? http://chickenwaft.xanga.com/524561694/secretly-admiring/

You think you can pull that off? You think you're that cool? You think you're bringing sexy back?

You make me sick! (I'm vomiting with rage as I type this. No!! My pitch!!)

First picture has a very ugly suit and the guy looks retarded, stop smiling, you bitch.

Second picture has a better suit, but JT is wearing it too casual for business. I intend to go for the tight look. Closed jacket, buttoned up.

Don't be wear shit like you see it on GQ. Your job is to be smart and work like a slave, not look like a model. Get some normal suits and focus on more important shit.

@pds: If you really want to wear Express suits then good luck, my friend. That's like really wanting to drive a Civic...

PickYourBattlesNot sure what's so tough abuot this one: wear what fits you. If you're fat, wear the boxier looking suits. If you're slim, wear slim-fitting suits.

a suit that fits a slim person is not the same as a slim fitting suit. although when i was in london, the analysts there would get their suits from zara and the pants would be like hipster tight.

anyway, the ultimate point is what others have said. look good but try not to bring attention to yourself, positive or negative b/c you'll ultimately just get shit for it.
