Advice on Moving from MO to FO

Hi,

Starting at a London HF straight out of undergrad (target, econ major, UK). Small shop, starting in an MO role (P+L/settlements/trade rec's).

Looking to move to the front office in the next 2 years.

Would be very grateful from any advice from anyone who's succeeded/tried and failed/watched people do it/got opinions. Anything from things to do in the office (don't be crap, I guess) to books to read to what ties to wear - really open to any advice.

Thanks!!
