Applying online to Hedge Funds with pitch

Hi, I'm applying online to hedge funds. I come from a non traditional background i.e. engineering for 6 years and recently completed a masters in finance so making a career switch ; or at least hoping to. I've applied to point72 so far and I talked to a portfolio manager from Point72 who I contacted on LinkedIn. He said that point72 has a robust online application system and that they have people reviewing each resume so I should go through that process. What do you all think of submitting a pitch with my resume when I apply online? Does it make sense? And if so, how many stock pitches should I send in with my resume? Should I just send in a 2 page report on each stock or send in the excel model as well for each?
