base salary market rate for 1yoe analyst?
Hi all, I am discussing comp with an MLP l/s pod. What base should I ask for? is 200k market these days for an analyst with 1yoe on buyside? or is it 175k?

They cap out at $200k usually - can try for that and see if you get lucky
Oh you sweet child. Platform base for 1 YOE on buyside is $150k tops. There are even $135k bids out there. Your senior analyst with 10 YOE is making $200k base. You can ask but you ain’t getting that this decade
What would the base $ be for an experienced analyst (6 years) coming from a LO to cover a sector for a SPM?
Prob $175k with 6 YOE of publics. But UK definitely far less so idk

The salary is top of line and any additional bonus is eventually a bottom line expense so PM has incentives to pay you at the 200k salary cap (at our pod I default to 200k base for everyone who I expect will be earning 300k+). Usually helps if you have a competing offer to provide some cover with management.
