Breaking into Quant Hedge Fund or Quant Prop Role with a Masters

I am looking to break into the quant space but I didn't really know about the space during undergrad.

I recently graduated with an Econ/Finance bachelors from a non target with 18 months of internship experience, 8 of which was fundamental market research at a bulge bracket (think MS, GS, BofA). No return offer (lack of seats) so considering going back to school.

Many posts on here think that a bachelors in compsci/pure math is the best way to go, but seeing as that has passed me by:

1.Is it possible to break into quant trading/finance with an MFE from a top 5 program (Baruch, Princeton, Berkeley, etc) or is a CompSci masters better (not even sure I can take a compsci masters without a bachelors in a math/adjacent field).

2. Is 2 years really enough time to cover the grounded needed in a compsci masters/ MFE to learn the technical knowledge required?

My hope is that getting into a good school with a targeted effort into learning the technical skills that can be applied on the job would possible but I was hoping for a sanity check.

Any feedback is seriously appreciated!
