Can anyone actually talk about how the Associate recruiting process works at MM HFS (Citadel (Surveyor) / BAM / P72 / ETC.)

It feels like everyone talks about breaking into HFs out of IB but not as many people experience the HF recruiting process to work at a MM like people with PE recruiting.

More specifically, I have heard of one person interviewing at Citadel, and the process went like this:

- Meeting with BD person

- FCAT test

- 4 Hour modeling test (they didn’t do it but I have heard this / don’t even know what it entails exactly)

- Then what.. ?

just curious here as I am trying to get some more clarity.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, the recruitment process for Associate positions at MM HFs like Citadel, BAM, P72, etc., can vary, but it often involves several stages.

From the Point72 Experienced Academy Program Interview Process thread, it's mentioned that the recruitment process can be quite quick. The second and third rounds could be a case assignment or an interview, depending on availability. However, the thread also mentions that they didn't provide clear answers on many details, such as class size and typical class profile.

In another thread, a user shared their experience interviewing at Citadel. The process involved a meeting with a BD person, an FCAT test, and a 4-hour modeling test. However, the user didn't specify what came after these stages.

Unfortunately, the threads don't provide a complete picture of the recruitment process at these firms. It's likely that the process could involve further interviews or tests, and it might vary depending on the specific role and location.

I hope this gives you a bit of insight, but I'd recommend reaching out to people who have gone through the process for more detailed information. You could also check out more threads on WSO or other finance forums. Good luck with your recruitment journey!
