Case study terrible - am i cooked
Have a case study for a PM due shortly, have completely cooked it and don't even want to send it. Was out of my league thinking LBO modelling would be applicable to a HF job. Any advice? Thanks

Yes you’re cooked
lol, to at least save some face, is it worse to submit a model without a BS and CFS? or one that doesnt balance?
Don't exclude them
If the bs/cfs don’t matter to this co and you have a good revenue/is build with a thoughtful write up and a clear catalyst path then just do a quick bs/cfs and if it doesn’t balance then just make it summary lines. You’re (most likely) not going to generate alpha from modeling the bs better than anyone
Focus on a good operating model and try to get detailed here as you wabt some saving grace if the rest of the case is as bad as you say it is. For BS/CF just project what matters and leave out the rest.. if it’s an equity then maybe the BS/CF doesn’t even matter much depending on the industry. If credit, then just focus on drilling down on key cash flow drivers vs trying to accurately project ppe or some random line on the CFS.
good news guys was not cooked
