CF vs HF vs PE vs IB - Where to Start Career in 2025
Background: business analytics degree @ semi-target, back office return offer secured @ BB for ft 2025
Seeking advice for where to start my career: CF @ big tech (meta, google, msft), back/mid office at PE or HF, CB at BB
a) CF in tech: Seems like a good way to take advantage of fldp rotational programs+pivot internally to an area Im interested in (AI)
b) BO pe/hf: good pay, prestigious name on resume, i like the company cultures+people I've talked to, i assume better exit ops
c) CB: fintech coverage, was told I'd do well by an anayst friend, but idk if I'd want the grind associated with front office. Can handle it but I'm not yearning for long hours.
What would you pick in my position+why?
Top of my list are pay, wlb, nyc based. I'd be going for business/data analyst roles. I do not like my r/o role because it's unrelated to my interests+low pay (for nyc). I've networked+received referrals for several companies I'd pursue.
